A light crisp refreshing wine. We have four blocks of Sauvignon blanc on both north and south facing slopes. The soil ranges from decomposed sandstone, shale, and sand. Each block is harvested and vinified separately, then blended for a fruity wine with green undertones.

Dry Rose. The wine has a sweet bouquet of strawberries and candy floss and is surprisingly dry on the palate. Produced from red wine grapes with only a couple of hours skin contact, the Rosé has a darker pink colour and is medium bodied.

Sangiovese is an Italian cultivar from the Tuscan region. Like Italian wine, the Raka Sangiovese is a medium bodied wine with characters of sweet cherries & cranberries with hints of spice and cinnamon. It pairs perfectly with pizza, pasta or any tomato based food.

Raka Pinotage is a medium bodied wine. It has a concentration of dark fruits, black and red berries. Spicy sweet undertones of cinnamon and banana.

Quinary means consisting out of five and the Raka Quinary is a Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The blend is Cabernet Sauvignon driven. Full bodied, rounded and smooth.

A Cape blend of six different varieties. All five the Bordeaux varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec) plus a big splash of Pinotage! The name, Figurehead, refers to the figurine on the bowsprit of old sailing ships.

Appearance: very dark violet
Complex nose of fruitcake, plum , dark chocolate and tobacco while a balanced palate adds blackcurrant and cherry characters with a lingering full finish.

Five Maidens, a Bordeaux style blend, spent 24 months maturing in brand new French oak barrels.
The name Five Maidens comes from the Biblical parabel of the five wise and the five foolish maidens, who did not bring enough oil for their lamps to the vigil, and as a result missed the wedding feast. We named the wine after the five wise maidens.

Erica, limited premium Raka Range. A mere 1250 bottles were produced, a testament to their exclusivity. Matured for 36 months in new French oak barrels. The Erica Shiraz shows classic Shiraz characters, full-bodied and bold. Aromatic notes of black fruit (plums & blackcurrant) pepper, underlined with wooden smoky tone. The palate is full, round and well balanced with an explosion of spice (anise, coriander and pepper) and red berries.

During the 36 months the Cabernet Sauvignon received further new French barrels, when it was racked after only one year and then returned to new first fill barrels, where it matured for a further 24 months. The Erica Cabernet Sauvignon is well rounded, spicy and supple. The fruit on the nose is upfront – black currant, dark berries and slight earthy tones. The palate is bold enough to counter 3 years maturing in all new oak and reflects the same fruity tones as the bouquet with a slight clove and pepper undertone. A full lingering finish with integrated tannins
